Ahead of the season opener in Melbourne, the most interesting piece of gossip that has come out of all the usual hyperbole has been the reports coming out of several leading sources that the BMW may have the goods to take the challenge to Ferrari and McLaren. This article on f1-live.com alleges that BMW Sauber have been sandbagging in testing, rarely putting in low-fuel runs when up against the top teams, and have supposedly beaten times set by McLaren in their private test. As I previously said, the BMW certainly looked quick, but this revelation certainly ups the excitement for the coming season...
